Silken Strands was conceived and dreamt about for a long time before its launch. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in fashion Merchandizing and Textiles and a career in retail management. In late 2015, our family experienced the loss of our two eldest sisters within days of each other. The time and energy I devoted to creating the first five styles helped me cope with my grief and heartache. It was my way of escaping to a different space. Through this process, I discovered the desire to create everyday fashionable clothing with timeless appeal.

Each collection features natural fabrics, wider seam allowances, French seaming, shorter stiches per inch, and natural or covered buttons. These elements are the foundation of our designs and business. To keep things interesting, we incorporate unusual fabrics and prints. We’re proud to say our products are made in the USA!
